Last week ended with a cherry on the top; a visit to La Sagrada Familia. We could not miss the chance to show this emblematic landmark to out visiting expedition from Perú.
Still unfinished, the cathedral is awaiting the construction of two of its central towers, Torre de Jesucrist and Torre de la Verge Maria, guarded by the four towers of the Evangelists. Nevertheless, it’s already a breathtaking temple. Our visitors were to climb one of the towers and admire one of the best panoramic views of the city. Inside the cathedral, they could marvel at the splendour and expressivity of Gaudí’s use of natural light in his architecture.
During the weekend, time to explore other venues with the host families and an epic football feast at the Camp Nou. Even the rain kept at bay for the 6-1 against Celtic.
On Monday, a stroll along Passeig de Gràcia and all manner of selfies and snaps at La Pedrera, followed by a shopping spree down Las Ramblas.
On Tuesday, SIR students joined 1st ESO’s visit to Les Coves del Toll, travelling in time to prehistory, feeling the presence of our ancestors within the mighty caves.
